Men’s Section is going to host the Premier Challenge Tournament on May 12 & 13 at the Happy Valley hockey pitch and HK Football Club. To recognize the tremendous contribution by the late Jock Collaco to the HKHA, the champion of the Tournament will be presented with the J. J. Collaco Jr. Memorial Cup. During the Tournament, an “Open Forum” for all Men and Women umpires will be held at Happy Valley and HKFC on Saturday May 12 and at King’s Park Hockey Ground on Sunday May 13, 2012. The aim of the Forum is to gather umpires or even players who are interested in umpiring for experience sharing of different umpiring skills including positioning, signalling, whistling, advantage, management, team work etc. All umpires are cordially invited to the Forum even one or two games.
All Premier teams and Punjab A, the champion of the First Division, have been invited to participate in this 2-day 9-a-side tournament. The 10 teams will be grouped into two pools (see below) according to their final standings in the Premier League this season for the pooled matches on May 12 that will be held at HKFC and HV(1).
Each team will comprise of a maximum of eighteen (18) players with not more than nine (9) players (including the goalkeeper) on the pitch at any one time.

In the group stage, the teams will play each other on a round-robin basis. Each pooled match will last 15 minutes with 5 minutes break between.
The top 2 teams of each pool together with the third placed teams with better results will enter the Cup competition on May 13. The bottom 2 teams of each pool together with the third placed teams with worse results will enter the Plate competition. The Cup and Plate competition on May 13 at KP will adopt the Double-Knock out format with 15 minutes for each game and the final of Cup and plate will play 20 mins each game.
