Guangdong and Hong Kong shared 12 goals between them in the most exciting match so far in the 6th Hong Kong Quadrangular Hockey Tournament. Hong Kong were all smiles at the end of the game. But it could have gone terribly wrong for them. Down 5 goals after 26 minutes, a disaster was looming. But Hong Kong turned things around in the 32nd minute with a goal by Inderpal Singh. That sparked the team into action. An amazing 5 goals followed to give Hong Kong a 6-5 lead. Unfortunately, Hong Kong could not hold the lead and allowed Guangdong to equalise with 2 minutes remaining. Captain, Arif Ali scored three goals, Inderpal two and Ishtiaq Ahmed one. A very good performance by the Hong Kong boys. Hong Kong will take on Batu Pahat of Malaysia, victors over Tianjin 2-0, in the final pool game tomorrow.
