The Hong Kong Hockey Association invites you to enter teams in the HKHA Summer Mixed Hockey League commencing in late June 2010. The entry fee is $2,500 per team.
The Mixed Hockey League will be played on weekday evenings at Happy Valley from 18:30 until 23:00. The main dates for the league are from 28th June to 3rd September. On Mondays through Fridays we have the use of the Happy Valley 1 pitch and on Tuesdays and Fridays we also have the use of the Happy Valley 2 pitch.
The competition format will be determined once the number of entrants is known, but each team can expect to play 8 to 10 games.
All matches will be on a friendly and informal basis. However, any team wishing to participate on a more competitive basis should indicate this on the entry form by registering under Division 1. If there are 6 or more teams wanting to play competitively a competitive division (Division 1) will be created. For Division 1 results will be recorded, a winner will be declared and Player Registration Rules will apply.
If interested, please complete the attached Team Registration Form and send it to hkha@hockey.org.hk, on or before 17:00 on Friday 11h June 2010. Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis with priority being given to the first teams from each club and then the second / third teams. Entry fees need not be sent at the same time as the registration form but must be received by the HKHA office before 17:00 on Friday 25th June. Any team that has not paid by this date will not be entered into the league. Player Registration Forms must also be submitted on or before 25th June, however teams not in Division 1 may add players to their team list at any time during the league.
Any players who wish to play but do not have a team to join can submit their names by e-mail and the HKHA will assist them to join a team.
Please note that, except as indicated in the Summer Mixed Hockey League Bylaws, all games will be played in accordance with the FIH Rules of Hockey and the HKHA Rules. Players are reminded of the importance of fair play, good sportsmanship, good conduct on the pitch and not bringing the game of hockey into disrepute. Any players that do not abide by the Rules and Bylaws may be brought before the HKHA Disciplinary Committee who may award penalties that are carried forward into the 2010/2011 Winter Leagues.
Wishing you all an enjoyable Summer Hockey season.
