The Hong Kong Hockey Association invites you to enter teams in the HKHA Summer Mixed Hockey League commencing on Monday June 17th 2013 and finishing on Friday 16th August 2013. The entry fee is $2,500 per team $2,000 per team.
The HKHA Summer Mixed League will be played on weekday evenings at Happy Valley from 18:30 until 23:00. We have the use of the Happy Valley 1 pitch on most weekday evenings and we have the use of the Happy Valley pitch 2 on most Tuesdays and Thursdays and some other evenings.
The exact competition format will be determined once the team entries have been received. It will most likely be based on 3 pools, each of 10 to 12 teams. Each team can expect to play once per week, on average with occasionally two games per week.
The objective of the Mixed Summer League is for all matches to be played on a friendly and informal basis. This does not mean that the matches are not competitive. Most matches are generally hard fought.
ALL match results are to be recorded by the captain of the winning team sending the result to the Association by SMS with a copy to the captain of the opposing team. Further instructions will be sent post registration.
Clubs / teams interested in taking part in the Mixed Summer League should complete the attached Team Registration Form (either xls or pdf version) and submit it to the HKHA (firstname.lastname@example.org) on or before 17:00 on Friday 7th June 2013. Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis with priority being given to the first teams from each club and then the second / third teams. Entry fees need not be sent at the same time as the registration form but must be received by the HKHA office on or before 17:00 on Friday 14th June, 2013. Any team that has not paid by this date may be required to withdraw from the league. Each team must also complete the attached Player Registration Form (either xls or pdf version) and submit it to the HKHA (email@example.com) on or before 17:00 on Friday 14th June 2013. However, teams may add players to their team list at any time during the league.
Any team that is aware of specific dates on which it may not be able to field a team may state this in a covering e-mail when submitting their registration form (this mainly applies to student teams). The HKHA will attempt to take such requests into account when determining the match schedule but cannot promise to meet all requirements. Please not that it is not possible to entertain requests such as “we can only play at 20:00” or “we can only play on Wednesdays”.
Any players who wish to play but are not affiliated with a team can submit their names by e-mail and the HKHA will assist them to join a team.
Please note that, except as indicated in the HKHA Summer Mixed Hockey League Bylaws, all games will be played in accordance with the FIH Rules of Hockey dated 1st January 2013. Players are reminded of the importance of fair play, good sportsmanship, good conduct on the pitch and not bringing the game of hockey into disrepute. Any players who do not abide by the Rules and Bylaws may be brought before the HKHA Disciplinary Committee who may award penalties that are carried forward into the 2012/2013 Winter Leagues.
