The objective of the Mixed Summer League is for all matches to be played on a friendly and informal basis. This does not mean that the matches are not competitive. Most matches are generally hard fought.
ALL match results are to be recorded by the captain of the winning team sending the result to the Association by SMS with a copy to the captain of the opposing team. Further instructions will be sent post registration.
Clubs / teams interested in taking part in the Mixed Summer League should complete the attached Team Registration Form (either xls or pdf version) and submit it to the HKHA (firstname.lastname@example.org) on or before 17:00 on Friday 30th May 2014. Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis with priority being given to the first teams from each club and then the second / third teams.
Entry fees need not be sent at the same time as the registration form but must be received by the HKHA office on or before 17:00 on Friday 13th June, 2014. Any team that has not paid by this date may be required to withdraw from the league. Each team must also complete the attached Player Registration Form (either xls or pdf version) and submit it to the HKHA (email@example.com) on or before 17:00 on Friday 13th June 2014. However, teams may add players to their team list at any time during the league.
Any team that is aware of specific dates on which it may not be able to field a team may state this in a covering e-mail when submitting their registration form (this mainly applies to student teams). The HKHA will attempt to take such requests into account when determining the match schedule but cannot promise to meet all requirements. Please note that it is not possible to entertain requests such as “we can only play at 20:00” or “we can only play on Wednesdays”.
Any players who wish to play but are not affiliated with a team can submit their names by e-mail and the HKHA will assist them to join a team.
A meeting for team Convenors and umpires will be held at King’s Park Conference Room (2/F of office block) on Tuesday 3rd June, 2014 at 19:00 to discuss the Summer League arrangements and Bylaws. All team Convenors are requested to attend or to send a representative. Any other interested parties are welcome to come along too. At this meeting we will also be seeking to form a small Summer League Organising Committee so please consider whether you can volunteer to help out on this Committee. It will not require very much of your time.
Convenors and players are reminded of the importance of fair play, good sportsmanship and good conduct on the pitch. Any behavior that could bring the game of hockey into disrepute will not be tolerated. Any teams or players who do not abide by the Rules and Bylaws may be brought before the HKHA Disciplinary Committee who may award penalties that are carried forward into the 2014/2015 Winter Leagues.
Wishing you all an enjoyable summer of hockey.
