The Hong Kong Hockey Association has been selected as one of the prize winners of the WorldHockey Youth Challenge 2008. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) Development Manager, Gabrielle van Doorn, said that Hong Kongs Live the Dream event which was held at the King’s Park Hockey Ground in May 2008 stood out from other entries. The other prize winning nations were New Zealand, Malawi, Chile and Poland.

The prize is a 3 day visit to Hong Kong of Minke Booij (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minke_Booij & www.minkebooij.nl/), captain of the Dutch women’s hockey team that won gold at the 2008 Olympics. Minke will visit Hong Kong from 8th to 10th May to talk with local players about her Olympic Dream and the road to follow to reach the Olympics. She will conduct clinics for Mini Hockey players and for the Hong Kong Womens national players, supported by Hong Kong local coaches, and will give a talk entitled The Way to Gold. She will be a VIP at the Rabobank Holland Cup Final on May 10th.
