China Women’s Hockey Representative Team – Jilin, China team, the current league champion in China, is to play Hong Kong Women’s AHF Cup squad again tonight at the King’s Park Hockey Ground, before they go back home.

After losing 2-3 to Hong Kong Men’s Quadrangular Tournament Squad, Jilin Women’s Hockey Team took control of the game from start when they played a much depleted Hong Kong Women’s AHF Cup squad yesterday morning.  Hong Kong started brightly with a quick counter attack that saw them deep into the Jilin circle.  However, it was Jilin who continuously terrorized the local side’s defensive half, and scored four goals in the first half.  Losing one defender to injury and two to overseas trips, many of the Hong Kong players had to play unfamiliar positions yesterday.  But after the half time break, they re-grouped and had a much more compact team display, only losing one goal in the second half.

The two sides will meet again tonight November 26th Monday at 8pm in King’s Park.  Some players will be back from overseas trips and hopefully the local side can make it a more level game tonight.

Jilin, China Team has been invited to Hong Kong to give local men’s and women’s squads some competitive training matches, in order to help their preparations for two important upcoming tournaments. The Women depart Hong Kong to compete in the 3rd Women’s AHF Cup Tournament in Singapore from December 6-16 whilst the men compete at home in the Men’s Quadrangular Tournament in Hong Kong in the second week of December.

China is currently ranked as the top side in Women’s hockey in Asia and the Jilin, China team are currently league champions as well as runners-up in a recent national tournament. They represent top standard hockey in China and offer Hong Kong hockey players the chance to compete against some of the best that Asia has to offer. These matches offer a rare opportunity for hockey players and the general public to witness top level hockey in Hong Kong.

Please come and support the players.
