The Hong Kong Ladies and the Hong Kong Men’s 60s teams returned from the Singapore International Masters Classic with runners-up medals. The Ladies lost 0-5 in the final to a very good Korea side, many of whom were from their 1988 Olympic Games Gold Medal team. The Hong Kong Men’s 60s team, with wins over Japan and Korea in the pool games met Malaysia in the final and lost by a narrow 2-3. David Lloyd scored both of HK’s goals in the final.
Hong Kong Ladies lost to Korea 0-7, drew with Singapore Dutch 2-2 and beat Singapore 5-0 in the pool round.
Hong Kong Men’s 60s beat Japan 3-2 and Korea 6-1 in the pool stage.
Hong Kong Men’s 40s team beat Indonesia 5-2, drew with Singapore 2-2, lost to Australia (2-8), England (0-9),
Austria 2-5 in the pool matches. In the play-off, Hong Kong beat Ireland 4-2 for 9th place.
